If you've paid any attention to hip-hop, then you've probably heard almost all the tracks here. Generally, the purpose of comps such as this one is to introduce new fans to the group's best work, or to offer a new context for a famous group via left-field choices. This one certainly achieves the former, but falls short on the latter. With the exception of Cappadonna's "Run," the choices here (largely culled from the group's 1990s halcyon days) are predictable. The exclusion of solo tracks from GZA and Method Man is curious, but that feels more like an oversight than a statement.
