The indie godhead had a lot to lose in attempting a comeback, but the critical success of You Are the Quarry would have amused even the most po-faced of English Queens. Mostly a mix of Smiths classics and new songs, this set showcases his sly appeal and maturing voice, and suggests (whisper it) a new contentment.
