Ain’t No Hat 4 That

It took "Blurred Lines" for those who dismiss Robin Thicke as an inoffensive blue-eyed soul man to pay attention to him. This underrated singer is determined to prove he's got spunk, and he growls at the ladies like the best of the R&B tomcats with disco and pop-flavored burners like "Ooh La La" and "Ain't No Hat 4 That." It's almost a relief when he finally reverts to his balladeer role on "4 the Rest of My Life." He's clearly straining himself, and the tempo is a bit overcooked, but his voice is as smooth and guileless as ever, and it steadies him as he breaks out of his comfort zone.
